2. Demo Edition Licence
Demo / TrialThe Demo edition is provided free of charge. By downloading and using it you agree to the following terms.
What you may do
- Install the Demo edition on one Windows computer for personal or commercial evaluation purposes.
- Process up to 10 images per batch run for as long as you wish. There is no time limit on Demo use.
- Evaluate all application features, including watermark layers, EXIF metadata, border system, presets, and output controls.
- Share screenshots or screen recordings of the Demo interface for review, blog, or educational purposes with attribution to Watermark Gienie by Glen E. Grant.
What you may not do
- Remove, obscure, or modify the Demo watermark badge displayed in the interface.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicence the Demo installer or any component of it.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Software.
- Use the Demo edition as a substitute for the Pro edition in a high-volume commercial workflow where the batch limit is circumvented by manual repeated runs at scale.
3. Pro Edition Licence
Pro, Registered UserThe Pro edition licence is granted upon receipt of full payment. Your licence is personal, non-exclusive, and non-transferable.
What you may do
- Install and use the Pro edition on a single Windows computer assigned to you as the named licence holder.
- Process unlimited image batches up to the stated maximum of 5,000 images per run.
- Use the Software for personal and commercial workflows, including client delivery, stock agency preparation, event archiving, and studio production.
- Install the Software on a replacement computer if your primary machine is replaced, provided you uninstall it from the previous machine.
- Receive all future version updates issued for the v3.x release line at no additional cost.
What you may not do
- Share, transfer, resell, or sublicence your Pro licence to any other person or entity.
- Install the Pro edition on more than one computer simultaneously without purchasing an additional licence.
- Redistribute the Pro installer or any licence key material in any form.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Software.
- Represent the Software as your own or remove Author attribution from the application interface or any associated documentation.
Licence activation
Activation is completed inside the application using the credentials provided at purchase. No ongoing internet connection is required after activation. Licence credentials are linked to the purchasing email address and are non-transferable.
Refund policy
Refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase. Contact [email protected] with your order details. Refunds are not issued after a licence has been activated and used for production work.
4. Intellectual Property
Watermark Gienie, including its source code, user interface, design, icons, and all associated documentation, is the exclusive intellectual property of Glen E. Grant. All rights are reserved. Nothing in this agreement transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.
The Watermark Gienie name, logo, and branding are the property of Glen E. Grant and may not be used in any commercial context without prior written permission.
5. Privacy and Data
Watermark Gienie is a fully local, offline application. It does not:
- Upload your images, metadata, or any file content to any server or third-party service.
- Collect usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports from your machine.
- Require an internet connection for core watermarking, processing, or export functions.
- Store licence credentials in any location other than your local machine.
The only personal data processed by the Software is information you voluntarily enter into EXIF metadata fields (Creator Name, Email, Copyright Statement, Website URL). This data is written only into the output files you produce on your own machine and is never transmitted externally.
6. Updates and Support
Pro licence holders receive all updates issued for the v3.x release line at no additional charge. Updates for a future major version release (v4.x or later) may require a separate upgrade purchase. The Author will make reasonable efforts to communicate any such change in advance.
Support is provided via email at [email protected]. Response times are not guaranteed but the Author aims to reply within 3 business days (Ontario, Canada time zone).
The Demo edition does not include priority support. Feature requests and bug reports from Demo users are welcomed and considered for future development.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The Author does not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from defects. Your use of the Software is at your sole risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Author disclaims all warranties including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the Author be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Software, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business, or loss of profits, even if the Author has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
The Author's total liability to you for any direct damages shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the 12 months preceding the claim. For Demo users this limit is zero.
9. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under this agreement shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
10. Changes to These Terms
The Author reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted at watermarkgienie.glenegrant.com/license.html. Continued use of the Software after a posted update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered Pro licence holders.
